JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Uniform Shop Manager

REPORTS TO: Deputy Business Manager

DEPARTMENT: Support Staff

CONTRACT TYPE: Part time - 44 weeks per year

Covenant Christian School is a distinctly and explicitly Christian Prep to Year 12 co-educational day school with over 800 students, located in Belrose on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. ROLE STATEMENT

The Uniform Shop Manager is responsible for the coordination of trading operations of the Uniform Shop. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ordering, displaying and selling of stock;

• Packing of online orders;

• Updating pricing of stock annually; monitor sales and pricing in order to ensure covering operational costs

• Providing customer service assistance to all members of the community who visit the Uniform Shop;

• Answering all online and phone enquiries about the uniform shop in a prompt time frame;

• Forward cash balances to the Financial Accountant every week

• Undertake the basic financial responsibilities of the shop including Point of Sale on Shopify, online orders via Shopify and cash sales.

• Liaise with Deputy Business Manager and the Financial Accountant on the financial operations of the Uniform Shop;

• Prepare notices and bulletin advice, promoting activities of the Uniform Shop

• Undertake stocktake at the end of the year in accordance with advice received from the Deputy Business Manager and Financial Accountant;

• Open the Uniform Shop at opening hours each week during school terms, with one extra week before the start of Term 1 and on the Monday (Development Day) before the start of Term 2;

• Liaise and roster parent helpers;

• Train and supervise the Uniform Shop Assistant;

• Meet with suppliers regularly, organise uniform returns and/or credit notes;

• Arrange try-on blazers with year 10 students in week 2 and 3 of Term 1 and take orders;

• Arrange consignment sale of blazers and inform Finance for payment when blazer is sold;

• Liaise with the Registrar regarding enrolment numbers, new students, orientation days, opening hours for new students, etc.

• Sort out and present second-hand uniforms for purchase;

• Ordering, pricing and selling of staff uniform; • Order uniform labels and create new labels for new items;

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Committed Christian of a reformed evangelical persuasion actively involved in the life of their local church.

• Able and willing to sincerely affirm the School’s Statement of Belief, modelling a lifestyle that reflects Christian practice and beliefs in their everyday life.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work and contribute in a team environment

• Previous experience working in a retail outlet

• Current motor vehicle licence

• Bookkeeping experience, including GST and POS transactions

• Computer literate; experience in Windows software

• A current Working with Children Check

• Awareness of WHS practice and procedures
