Covenant Christian School is a distinctly and explicitly Christian Prep to Year 12 co-educational day school with over 800 students, located in Belrose on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Working in partnership with parents, our passionate and highly qualified teaching staff deliver the curriculum from the understanding that all of life must be centred on God and his plan to restore all things under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

ROLE STATEMENT
To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources function of the school, ensuring the smooth running of HR process and compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist with advertising vacancies and coordinating recruitment campaigns.
- Schedule and conduct interviews, liaising with candidates and panel members.
- Conduct pre-employment checks including references, right to work, and WWCC clearance
- Prepare offer letters and employment contracts via Definitiv/other.
- Be main point of contact for applicants
- Assist with January Induction Day for new staff and co-ordinate induction for new staff onboarding throughout the year – in liaison with the Coordinator of School Administration (CoSA.)
HR & Compliance Administration
- Create and maintain accurate and confidential employee electronic files
- Process changes to employment such as promotions, contract amendments, and leavers exit, survey and Statement of Service.
- Maintain various registers including WWCC, Child Protection Training, Staff Code of Conduct, First Aid, Staff list on Covie Central
- Monitor and support staff review cycles, such as probation periods, Reflective Practice and Growth, Staff Intentions, and update Job Descriptions as required.
- Maintain Contractor compliance records – Code of Conduct, WWCC, Insurances, Declarations.
- Order/organise name badges as necessary.
- Contribute to the wider EA team and identify potential improvements to administration functions
Policies and WHS
- Member and minute taker for Work Health and Safety (WHS)
- Ensure staff are aware of emergency procedures and safety protocols
- Assist in the drafting, reviewing and updating of HR and WHS policies and procedures
- Assist with WHS training program
Staff Wellbeing
- Support Staff life events -record in Staff Life Event Register - Years of service/illness/baby etc.
- Coordinate All Staff Morning teas and monthly C Block birthday morning teas
- Assist with Return to Work
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Committed Christian of a reformed evangelical persuasion actively involved in the life of their local church.
- Able and willing to sincerely affirm the Schools’ Statement of Belief, modelling a lifestyle that reflects Christian practice and beliefs in their everyday life.
- Cert IV or Diploma qualified in Human Resources, or evidence of knowledge of HR administration
- A valid Working with Children Check.
- Awareness of WHS practice and procedures
- Commitment to confidentiality at all levels
- Good interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal; ability to work and contribute in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office , with a willingness to learn additional HR systems/Edumate.
- Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills, with attention to detail

- In consultation with the Executive and other Administration staff to identify hazards and manage risks, especially those related to programs, activities, equipment and systems of work in your area.
